Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is Jackson, and I live in Metropolitan Adelaide, in South Australia. 

I work for South Australia Health as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. I have been in my current role for three years.

What course did you study? Why did you choose this particular field?

I studied a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance with Foundation Education. I chose to study and work in the area of allied health because I have always had a passion for helping people. I wanted to work in a role hands-on with people and make a difference in their lives. Working as an allied health assistant gives me the opportunity to do that. I work with patients/ clients in the hospital setting who have had a stroke or other neurological condition; I provide therapy to these patients to restore them to their baseline and to get them home living the best life possible.

Why did you choose Foundation Education for your studies?

I chose to study with Foundation Education because I could complete my studies remotely, online at my own pace, which meant that I could have a good work, life, and study balance. I was able to complete most of my studies and then start to get industry experience while completing my course.
