Jackson Potter Student Success Story
Jackson Potter, Foundation Education Graduate
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Jackson, and I live in Metropolitan Adelaide, in South Australia. I work for South Australia Health as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. I have been in my current role for three years.
What course did you study? Why did you choose this particular field?
I studied a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance with Foundation Education. I chose to study and work in the area of allied health because I have always had a passion for helping people. I wanted to work in a role hands-on with people and make a difference in their lives. Working as an allied health assistant gives me the opportunity to do that. I work with patients/ clients in the hospital setting who have had a stroke or other neurological condition; I provide therapy to these patients to restore them to their baseline and to get them home living the best life possible.
Why did you choose Foundation Education for your studies?
I chose to study with Foundation Education because I could complete my studies remotely, online at my own pace, which meant that I could have a good work, life, study balance. I was able to complete most of my studies and then start to get industry experience while completing my course. Foundation Education is very supportive of students, and course teachers are easily contacted through the online platform.
