CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support

By completing the CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support, students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to provide assistance to teachers and students under supervision in public and independent schools and community education settings.

Students will learn how to support the behaviour of children and young people, including students from other cultures and those with disabilities. In addition, students will help implement education programs and contribute to the organisation and management of the classroom while gaining insight into legislative, policy and industrial requirements.

 

Career outcomes

Once you’ve completed your CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support, you’ll be able to provide assistance and support to teachers and students under broad-based supervision and in a range of settings, including public and independent schools and community education settings.

  • Teacher Aide

Eligibility Requirements

Education:

Students will need to have completed year 10 and be still attending school.

Minimum Age:

School students require the signed consent of a parent or guardian to enrol in this qualification. 

Work Placement:

Students must apply for their Working with Children check at course commencement. For mandatory work placement (100 hours), students must have access to an education environment AND a qualified teacher who is employed at the school.

Education environments may include:

  • Government school (pre-primary, primary and secondary)
  • Private/non-government school (pre-primary, primary and secondary)
  • Education centre
  • Kindergarten
  • Special educational centre
  • Community educational centre.

  • CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support
  • CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

 

Work placement requirements

The course requires the completion of 100 hours of supervised structured work placement in the education environment.
